Elegant Swedish floor lamp dating from the 1950s–60s, combining a sculptural turned wood stem with brass fittings and a slender black metal tripod base finished with brass ball feet.
The adjustable brass gooseneck allows the light to be directed, while the tapered parchment-style shade gives a warm, diffused light. The strongly figured turned wooden stem gives the lamp an unusually decorative character while retaining the lightness associated with Scandinavian lighting of the period.
The construction and design language are reminiscent of lighting by Hans Bergström and Ateljé Lyktan, although no maker's mark has been identified and the lamp is therefore offered as Swedish, designer unknown.
Good vintage condition with age-related patina and wear to the brass, wood and shade.
