Decorated in relief with a sequence of stylised female figures, picked out by a striking turquoise and brown-black glaze. Variations in the glaze accentuate the modelling and give each side of the vase a different character.
A particularly expressive example of Swedish interwar ceramics, sitting between Art Deco and emerging Scandinavian modernism.
Impressed underneath S:t Erik / Upsala / Sweden / S35. Retains an old attribution label identifying Gertrud Lönegren and dating the piece to 1932–36.
